Porsche Club of America
The Porsche Club of America Big Island Hawaii Region was newly formed February 2018 and now has over 100 members. Members hail from Kailua-Kona, Kamuela, Hilo and other sections on the island of Hawaii.
President Gunner Mench said the club hosts four events during the year alongside monthly tours. He said their Sweet Heart Run in February each year is quite popular. More than 50 members participated in the 2018 event. The club also hosts the popular Oktoberfest event.
The PCA Hawai’i Region is comprised of approximately 160 members, most of whom are located on the main island of O’ahu. Membership fluctuates from plus or minus five members throughout the year due to the transitory nature of the islands with military transfers and others migrating to and from the mainland.
There is an average of about one event per month ranging from island cruises, community charity drives such as the Hawaii food Bank Drive and the Toys for Tots campaign, an annual car show (Concours d’Elegance), human interest support, and an annual Christmas party.
General membership meetings are held bi-monthly and our Sonne Porsche newsletter is posted on our website, http://hi.pca.org, which contains information about our club including membership, email addresses, a gallery of members’ cars, information on up-coming events and archival information and photos from past events. The website also provides members with links to Porsche websites, classifieds, parts & repairs, aftermarkets, and other helpful information.
The Maui Section is a part of the Porsche Club of America Hawaii Region.
In 2018 the section took a lead role in establishing a Cars and Coffee Hawaii at the Maui Marketplace in Kahului. The event is held on the first Saturday morning each month.
Doug Buchanan is the section contact.
